PUPPET SHOW AT HARBEL, SMELL-NO-TASTE
January 24, 2012
It rain heavily that morning of January 21, 2012. But we thank God that after about an hour, the rain stopped and the sun began to shine. This was the day which we were scheduled to do a puppet show at the “SMELL NO TASTE” community. This is a community in Harbel. Harbel is a city where the only international airport is located.
We rode in a rented taxi as we do not have our own vehicle. Our equipment was forced in the taxi with us as there was not much space. I was afraid that we were going to break some of our boxed or equipment. We drove about forty-five minutes to reach to Harbel. But we blessed God that all went well with no trouble.
We were asked to perform at the yearend fellowship of the Liberia Deaf Association.  75% of the participants were deaf and dump. There were about 150 persons in attendance.
We left Monrovia about 10:30AM and reached Harbel about 11:15AM. We went right ahead to set up our equipment. The program did not start until after two hours.
When we started, the puppets did three songs after we prayed. The lady who is founder of the association usually translates everything into sign language for the benefit of the deaf and dumb.
After the three songs, I gave the gospel message which was also translated. The story was about Joseph. The invitation was given and people were asked to pray to accept Jesus Christ. I believe some of them prayed in their hearts though they could not speak it out. God knows their hearts. It was good to have the opportunity to share God’s word with these kids as well as youth.
